Kanawha Valley Friends Of Old Time Music And Dance (FOOTMAD) is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to promote traditional music and dance in Charleston, West Virginia and the Greater Kanawha Valley.
New volunteers are always welcome, the sole prerequisite being a desire to support these most enjoyable art forms.

The work of the organization is carried out by the Board of Directors and by other volunteers.
Our Whitewater Whirl contra dance weekend attracts over 100 dancers from around the country and even Canada each year to Fayette County Park in Beckwith, WV.
Old time Appalachian Jams happen the 3rd Thursday of each month during Art Walk Charleston. More info ....
A group of acoustic musicians meets each Wednesday from 7-9 pm to play old-time, Celtic, and other acoustic music. This is not a FOOTMAD activity; but, FOOTMAD folks participate. Find our more on the group's Facebook page, facebook.com/AcousticStringJam
