FOOTMAD Community Zoom Jams / Community Zoom Jams
Frequently Asked Questions
if Q. What is FOOTMAD Virtual House Concert (VHC)?
A VHC features one performer (or ‘act’). It will be hosted on Zoom and streamed to Facebook Live on the event page and on FOOTMAD’s Facebook page. The audience will be muted. On Zoom and Facebook participants may use the chat and comment features to express themselves and interact with each other, though the performer(s) may not have time or ability to see those.
Q. What is a FOOTMAD Community Zoom Jam (CZJ)?
A CZJ will be a more interactive experience. It will be hosted on Zoom, but at this time we are not planning to stream them to Facebook Live. These events may allow participants to speak, sing, and/or play tunes, one at a time while others are muted. The leader will act as the MC or in some cases a jam session leader by inviting others to play along them, but while they’re muted (we can’t play simultaneously because there are delays in Zoom calls and it would be chaos!).
Q. How do I attend a Virtual House Concert?
A. You can watch a VHC on Facebook Live from the Facebook event page for that event or FOOTMAD’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/KVFOOTMAD ) as it occurs (there’s a 20 second or so delay). Soon after the concert ends, Facebook will process the live stream and make it available as a recording.
Q. How do I attend a Virtual House Concert if I am not on social media
A. If you don’t use Facebook or prefer Zoom, you can register in advance for the concerts here https://forms.gle/51TMwH9rQvyqdv8s6. You will receive a Zoom link by email the day of the concert. Please do not share that link on social media.
Q. How do I attend a Community Zoom Jam
A. You can watch a Community Zoom Jam only on Zoom. At this time we do not plan to stream these to Facebook or record them for later viewing. A CZJ is meant as an interactive event for our FOOTMAD community and will involve some interactivity. Register for a Zoom Jam and / or sign up to share a song or tune if you want here: https://forms.gle/uYP59R39Any96cFY9 (registering as a contributor does not guarantee a “slot.”). When you register to attend either as an audience member or a “performer”, you will receive the Zoom invitation by email.

Q. How do I….(Any question regarding Zoom)
A. We will not recreate the many Zoom instructions here. You can search using your favorite search engine to find Zoom instructions and FAQs from multiple sources and in multiple formats..
