Sean nós (say sha-nose) literally means “old style”, and this beautiful gentle style is danced by individuals to their own steps, and their own rhythm.
Sean nós dance makes music by the continuous, rhythmic movement of the ankles and feet. We will cover a variety of popular steps which focus on the different elements of sean nós step dancing (timing, weight-transfer, accent, and dynamics) and the aspects of developing our improvisation.
